I’m Kur
t Boxdorfer and Legend Media Producers is my company.
I’m a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication – specifically in Radio, Television and Film – and it’s a good thing that I found out I could make a career out of this!
Even though a lot of folks would say I was a smart kid, I didn’t really know how to study. Very good grades (even in the Talented and Gifted program!), not so great study habits… but I knew I loved the field of communication. Crazy about shortwave radio growing up!
In fact, as a teenager I sent away and received over 100 QSL cards from places like Quito, Ecuador; Athens, Greece; Johannesburg, South Africa; and even Havana Cuba. I’ll never forget what Radio Habana sent me back. It said “Revolution or Death, We shall Win!” Yikes!
(fast forward to now!)
But here we are now in the year 2012 – - I love doing what I do, and I very much enjoy the creative process and the folks I get to meet and help along the way. To me, it never has been a job. It’s what I do, it’s who I am.
It's exciting to head out to a shoot or to sit down at the start of an edit. To analogize, it's like a new box of crayons, a brand new coloring book and no parents!
And because I'm lucky to do something I really enjoy, I've had some accomplishments.
- over 16 video industry awards in 3 different areas
- adjunct instructed at Southern Methodist University
- published nationally and locally in print
The important takeaway about Legend Media Producers, and myself, for that matter:
We care about our work and we care about the people we’re working for and with.
The job isn’t done until the customer says so.
